Windsor Dutton’s Spanish 1 class at Bentonville High School analyzed a work called “La Tamalada” by Chicana artist Carmen Lomas Garza. After identifying some of the themes of family/culture in the original work and learning more about artistic choices, the students designed a side-by-side collage. The students created a variety of collage designs. Some represented the students’ specific families/memories, while some students designed a collage that represented what values and ideas they associate with family in general. #ARTeacherCCY
