On February 13, the Spring 2023 cohort of ART/Works! interns began their journey. With pilot program funding support from the Women’s Giving Circle, The Center for Children and Youth and The Faulkner Performing Arts Center are providing 60 hours of job training experience for high school students. Martha Sandven and Stephanie Flinn, both current ARTeacher Fellows, have teamed with Nicole Leachman, FPAC Director, to collaborate on training seminars in professionalism, technical theater, house management, stage management, and box office management. Dr. Ashley Grisso, a former ARTeacher Fellow, has joined to help teach and lead the interns through important skills like interviewing. Maggie Smith, a U of A senior who is a theatre and photography artist, is mentoring the interns in a series of creative learning and arts integration workshops. Congratulations to all involved!
