Congratulations to ARTeacher Fellowship alum Julie Griggs, who was recently named the 2018 Bentonville High School Teacher of the Year. Griggs is a recent graduate of the ARTeacher Fellowship program, having completed her third and final year this spring. In addition to the outstanding work she does in the classroom, she has also shared her knowledge and experience with a range of learning communities, including leading workshops in the Arkansas delta and for the National Council of Teachers of English.

Griggs credits the ARTeacher Fellowship program for helping her develop and expand her skills and knowledge as a teacher. “I attribute so much of my growth to (the ARTeacher Fellowship program). It’s an opportunity be around really positive teachers who challenge themselves to grow.”

The ARTeacher Fellowship is a yearlong professional development series designed to support NW Arkansas secondary teachers who endeavor to integrate the arts into their classroom curriculum. For more information visit our program page.
