Congratulations to first-year ARTeacher Fellow Jessica Culver! She and student Morgan Nietert, both of Ozark High School, have received a major honor through National History Day. The two were chosen to participate in the Sacrifice for Freedom: World War II in the Pacific Student and Teacher Institute, an all-expenses paid program that allows 16 teacher/student teams to study World War II history in Hawai’i. Morgan and Mrs. Culver will travel to Oahu this summer to study the war in the Pacific and honor a “Silent Hero” from the war. The program is funded by the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites.

Ms. Culver continues to go above and beyond to develop herself professionally and provide valuable opportunities for her students. A teacher of history, economics, and civics, she has received recognitions from the National Constitution Center, US Peace Institute, and the Goethe Institut. We are proud to have her as an ARTeacher Fellow.
