Last month in Tulsa, the Common Ties conference, hosted in part by the Center for Children & Youth, held a celebration honoring the accomplishments of its participants. While there, they visited the historic Greenwood neighborhood, toured museums, and examined how the conference’s theme of belonging coalesced around the history of racial violence and inspiring Black perserverance in Tulsa. Participants presented their incredible action projects, funded by Common Ties grants, that sought to increase belonging in their own spheres. The growth in knowledge and action of those who attended has been incredible to watch.
