The ARTeacher Fellowship recently held meetings with 2012 Arkansas Teacher of the Year Kim Wilson. Ms. Wilson, now working in her home state of South Carolina, is using grant funding to develop and implement an arts integration teaching program in South Carolina modeled after CCY’s award-winning ARTeacher Fellowship. Current Fellows and Alums from across the ten years of the ARTeacher Fellowship, along with CCY director Hung Pham and founder Dr. Chris Goering, sat down with Ms. Wilson to share their collective knowledge and discuss what the South Carolina program could look like. A productive day of brainstorming and planning bodes well for the South Carolina program. Said Pham, “We’re delighted to see the ARTeacher Fellowship serving as the model for arts integration in other states, and to see our work spread to new places. South Carolina couldn’t ask for a better advocate than Kim Wilson to help shape this new initiative for the state.”
