This November, University of Arkansas Professor Sean Connors facilitated the ARTeacher PD workshop on reading and creating comics and graphic novels for the secondary classroom. Professor Connors shared his deep knowledge of multimodal literacy practices to reveal the sophisticated learning and thinking made possible by comics. The participating Fellows—no matter their drawing background—gained confidence in their ability to integrate image and text to convey meaning. We are excited to see what our Fellows will do with these vibrant and hugely popular artforms. #arteacherccy
